Bhubaneswar: Odisha Crime Branch (CB) sleuths have arrested two drug peddlers from neighbouring West Bengal and seized over one kg of brown sugar from them in the city.
Sources said the CB’s Special Task Force (STF) launched a raid following a tip-off about a major drug deal near Rasulgarh crossing in Bhubaneswar on Monday night.
The STF caught Rakibul Laskar (30) and Sudhanya Gayen (44) and seized brown sugar weighing 1.025 kg from their possession during the raid.
STF sources said the two were part of an interstate drug racket and efforts were on to identify other members of the gang.
The two men have been charged under the NDPS Act and will be produced in a local court later on Tuesday, the sources added.
