Puri: Two persons, including a minor boy, went missing while bathing in the sea here on Tuesday. While one was found dead, the other person was untraced.
According to sources, 16-year-old Anupam Mandal, a tourist from West Bengal, had gone to the sea in front of Camellia hotel situated at Chakra Tirtha Road in the afternoon. As he went deep inside the water and did not return, other tourists alerted the lifeguards.
Following a search by the lifeguards and Fire Brigade personnel, Anupam’s body was found. The search team sent the body to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
In the second incident, 21-year-old Sanju Bhattacharya went missing while taking bath in the sea in front of Pink House at Chakra Tirtha Road. Though lifeguards and Fire personnel launched a search operation, he remained untraced till evening.
