Two BJP Leaders Injured In Murderous Attack

Sohela: Two BJP leaders were seriously injured in an attack by a group of miscreants at Sohela in Bargarh district on Saturday.

The victims have been identified as the party’s youth wing secretary Irashish Acharya and state general secretary Ranjan Patel.

The duo was rushed to Bargarh hospital for treatment. Acharya was later shifted to Burla hospital after his condition deteriorated.

Protesting the incident, MLA of the saffron party Rabi Nayak staged a dharna inside Odisha Assembly and stated that the attack was done at the behest of labour minister Sushant Singh.

On the other hand, Sushant Singh refuted the allegations and said that a thorough investigation into the matter would reveal the fact. Singh alleged that some BJP workers have been creating ruckus in Sohela for the past few days. They are supplying food and trying to install an air-conditioner for Jayanarayan inside the jail, he alleged.

According to sources, both the party leaders were attacked with iron rods and sticks by more than 25 miscreants while they were on their way to meet party leader Jayanarayan Mishra who is lodged in Sohela jail.
