Mumbai: FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of e-commerce beauty giant Nykaa, made a strong stock market debut on Wednesday with shares listed at Rs 2,018, a 79 per cent premium over its issue price of Rs 1,125 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Its market capitalisation crossed Rs 1 lakh crore.
Managing Director and CEO of Nykaa Falguni Nayar, along with her daughter Advaita attended the company’s IPO listing ceremony. Actor Katrina Kaif added some showbiz glamour to it, but with a purpose. “She’s a business partner to Nykaa and that’s how she was here today,” Nayar told NDTV.
Kaif had launched her own beauty line ‘Kay Beauty’ on the platform in 2019. “It’s a brand that we started together and she’s been very instrumental in helping us build the brand. She’s a joint owner and also she’s conceptualised the brand and we are building it together,” Nayar was quoted as saying by the national webportal.
Like Katrina, Alia Bhatt also has made the investment through a secondary transaction in the beauty e-commerce platform in 2020. Nayar had earlier told the media, “Alia and I had a very interesting conversation about how both she and Nykaa were launched in 2012. She said the three reasons she wanted to invest in Nykaa were because it has Indian roots, it is founded by a woman and Nykaa is proof that the best in India can take on the best in the world.”
