Sundargarh: At least two boys were killed and around 18 others injured, some of them seriously, as lightning struck when they were playing football in Nuagaon area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Sunday.
According to sources, the incident took place at Baneilata under Nuagaon block in the district in the evening. Soon after the mishap, locals rushed the boys who had sustained injuries after being hit by lightning to a nearby hospital. While two of them were declared dead, the rest are still under treatment.
Some of the children, who sustained critical injuries, were shifted to Rourkela for treatment, the sources added.
