Rourkela: In an unfortunate incident, two children were critically injured in an explosion at Deokaran area in Biramitrapur of Rourkela on Friday morning.
One of the victims has been identified as Anuj Chatterjee.
The duo was rescued and immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.
According to sources, the incident took place when a vehicle containing crackers to drive elephants away from the locality, caught fire.
Receiving information about the mishap, forest and police personnel rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
