Two College Students Drown In Puri Sea

Puri: Two college students drowned while taking bath in Puri sea late on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajat Pandey (22) of Jamshedpur and Mohammad Ibad (22), a resident of Delhi. Both were students of Piloo Mody College of Architecture at CDA in Cuttack.

According to available information, five boys and a girl had gone to the sea beach. While bathing in the water body near Hotel Mayfair, Rajat got swept away and drowned. In an attempt to save him, Mohammad went into the deep waters. However, he was also swept away by strong currents.

The bodies were later fished out of the sea by local fire personnel and lifeguards and sent for postmortem.

Four other students have been detained by police for questioning in connection with the incident.
