Keonjhar: Two cousins drowned in the Baitarani river at Kodapada of Anandpur block in Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
The cousins were 6 and 16 years of age and drowned while bathing in the river. They have been identified as Rudra Narayan Ojha and Subha Prakas Sutar.
Sources said they had gone to bathe in the river and accidentally fell into strong currents of the water.
On being informed by residents, fire department personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the minor boys. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared them “brought dead”.
