Two Dreaded Criminals Arrested In Bhanjanagar

Bhanjanagar: Two dreaded criminals were arrested following two
separate encounters in Bhanjanagar of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday.

They were identified as Bablu Paswan and Jitandra Nayak, a resident of Rourkela.

According to Ganjam SP Asish Singh, Bablu, a contract killer from
Jharkhand, was hired to murder an under-trial prisoner before he was produced in the court on Friday. On receiving information regarding the plan, police
personnel conducted raids at different places in the town and managed
to trace the criminal. Later, when the police team intercepted his
vehicle near Nidhiapalli, the criminal and his two associates opened
fire at the cops. Following which, the police personnel retaliated and Bablu sustained bullet injuries on his legs.
One of his associates Jitendra Nayak was
nabbed two hours later following a similar encounter.”

Jitendra is involved in several criminal cases including murder in
Sundargarh district. A pistol, two bullets and a motorcycle were
seized from his possession,
