Cuttack: The police on Saturday arrested two dacoits from Markatnagar in Cuttack. A gun, bullets and several other weapons were seized from their possession.
They were identified as Sheikh Bablu and Sheikh Kala.
Acting on a tip-off that the duo was attempting to commit a robbery in the area, a police team conducted raids and managed to nab them.
In another incident, Mangalabag police arrested a fraudster on charges of duping a patient of Rs 30,000 on the promise of sanctioning Rs 6 lakh from the chief minister’s relief fund. The accused identified as Sanjiv Jena, a resident of Balasore, is being interrogated by police to extract information regarding involvement of more people in the case.
