Two-Day Bank Strike: Over 5500 Branches In Odisha To Remain Shut

Bhubaneswar: Over 5500 branches of various banks in Odisha will remain closed as part of the two-day nationwide bank strike on Monday (March 15) and Tuesday (March 16). More than 30,000 employees of the state will take part in the strike.

The United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU) has called for the strike protesting the privatisation of public sector banks and retrograde banking reforms.

All over the country, services at bank branches like deposit, withdrawal, cheque clearance, and loan approvals would be affected due to the strike. However, ATMs are likely to remain functional on both days.

The two-day strike will see banks being closed for four consecutive days as March 13 and March 14 were Saturday and Sunday respectively.
