Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday detained two persons for allegedly pelting School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra’s car with stones at Belabahali in Keonjhar district.
A team of Ghasipura police started the investigation and picked up the duo from Belahahali after conducting raids at different places in the district.
Supporters of the minister had on Monday staged a blockade near Jarda Chhak in Anandpur on NH-20 in the district to protest against the incident.
The agitators demanded action against those involved in attack during Ganesh idol immersion ceremony at Belabahali Chhak in the district the previous day.
Another group of people had also staged a demonstration and blocked the road at Ghatagaon over the same issue.
On the other hand, police have seized five DJ sets that were used during the immersion ceremony last night.
Unidentified miscreants had pelted Patra’s car with stones and badly damaged its rear windshield while he was on his way to Belabahali to attend the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony the previous day.
