Keonjhar/Rourkela/Balangir/Sonepur: Police on Wednesday detained two members of  Bahujan Kranti Morcha (BKM) for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans in a protest rally against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) in Keonjhar during a 12-hour Bharat Bandh.

According to sources, some BKM activists during a rally in the town shouted pro-Pakistan slogans. Opposing the anti-national activities, the BJP lodged a complaint against the two activities in the Town police station.

While business establishments remained open, all educational institutions remained closed in the Steel City.

In Balangir district, the Minority Joint Action Committee took out a protest rally in Kantabanji town in Balangir district while the BKM and Bhim Dal staged dharna at several areas in Sonepur town.

The call for Bharat Bandh was given by Maulana Sajjad Nomani of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) to protest against the controversial CAA and NRC.
