Puri: The Railway Protection Force on Saturday detained two persons in connection with the Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express fire at Puri railway station on Friday.
A massive fire that broke out when the train was being cleaned at the station had left compartments S2, S3, S4, and S5 gutted. Three fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the flames.
The identities of the two detained persons are yet to be disclosed, but they are being interrogated, sources said. A case has been registered with the Puri GRP on the basis of the Puri railway station superintendent’s statement.
A five-member team led by ADRM Raj Kumar is also probing the incident while a forensic and railways chemical team is ascertaining the cause behind the fire, the sources added.
