Aska: Two dreaded criminals were nabbed following an encounter with police near Karnoli village in Ganjam district late on Monday night. The criminals have been identified as Laxman Singh and Tuna Goud.
“Acting on a tip-off regarding their presence in the locality, a team of Aska police conducted a raid in the area. As soon as the police reached, the duo started firing indiscriminately. In retaliation, we also opened fire,” a police officer informed.
Laxman, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, is a contract killer and Tuna, who hails from Kodala, also has a number of criminal cases pending against him at different police stations, the officer added.
The duo has been admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Two pistols and a motorcycle were seized from them.
