Bhubaneswar: Two girls from Odisha – Ajmina Kujur and Jiwan Kishori Toppo – have made it to the 20-member Junior Indian Women’s Team for the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2022 to be held from April 1 – 12 in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
Hockey India announced the 20-member squad for the much-awaited tournament, which was postponed to 2022 due to the omicron-threat in South Africa, on Thursday.
The Indian team, which is grouped in pool D along with Germany, Malaysia and Wales, will start their campaign on April 2 with their first match against Wales Junior Women with Salima Tete as captain and Ishika Chaudhary as vice captain.
While the next match is against German Junior team on April 3, they will play their last group-stage match on April 5 against Malaysia. The Quarter Finals will be held on April 8, Semi-Finals on April 10 and the Final on April 12.
