Two Get Lifer For Child Sacrifice In Odisha’s Kendrapada

Kendrapada: The District Sessions Court on Thursday sentenced two persons to life imprisonment for the murder of an eight-year-old boy of Gokhapada village under Marshaghai police limits in the district in 2015.

The court, while sentencing the two accused Baikuntha Das and Choudhury Abinash Das, also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 and ruled that the failure to pay the amount will entail an additional one-year jail term.

As per the case records, the two accused after sacrificing the minor boy to appease the Goddess had thrown his body in the river.
