Khurda: Tangi Wildlife Division seized 30 dead migratory birds during raids at Balipatapur and Abhimanpur near Chilika and arrested two persons.
The poachers, identified as Babuli Pradhan of Gopinathpur and Gopinath Parida of Abhimanpur, were forwarded to court on Sunday.
The Forest Department had been conducting raids at different places for the safety of migratory birds in Chilika.
According to sources, Babuli and Gopinath were arrested by forest officials while carrying the birds in a motorcycle during a raid at Balipatapur Ring Road and Abhimanpur Ring Road.
The dead migratory birds included Northern Pintail, Common Coot and Large Whistling Teal, the sources added.
