Bhubaneswar: India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a PSU under the Tourism Ministry, is exploring the possibility for giving operation and maintenance contract of Hotel Kalinga Ashok, Bhubaneshwar, and disinvestment of Hotel Nilachal, Puri, under the government’s ambitious target of monetising “under-utilised” public sector assets.
A total of 8 ITDC hotel assets are under consideration, the National Monetisation document said.

Major assets under various stages of discussion are as following:
The Kalinga Ashok at Kalpana Square in Bhubaneswar has 36 rooms, including four suites. Hotel Nilachal located close to the Raj Bhawan in Puri is lying defunct for several years. The ITDC has an 89 per cent stake in the hotel while the remaining 11 per cent is with the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC).
