Balasore/Cuttack: Violence against young girls and women continues unabated in the state. The Sunday night saw two, including minor Dibyang girl, being allegedly raped in Cuttack and Balasore districts.
A minor Dibyang girl was allegedly abducted from a residential school and raped at Baliapal in Balasore.
According to sources, the girl went missing from the school on Saturday. Unable to trace her, the school authorities informed her brother about it. She was later rescued and admitted to Baliapal community health centre in a critical condition. She was then shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital, as her condition deteriorated.
A youth of the survivor’s village allegedly took the minor girl from the school and raped her, sources added.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother has lodged a police complaint.
In Cuttack, a woman was allegedly raped by two persons inside an ATM kiosk at Pilgrim Road near College Square in Cuttack.
According to the sources, the survivor was abducted and taken to the ATM counter. The accused persons allegedly raped the woman and later dumped her at a field in Jobra.
Some locals spotted her in a critical condition and informed the police. She was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Meanwhile, Malgodown Police have detained a security guard of the ATM counter for interrogation and further investigation is on.
