According to sources, the accident occurred around 2 pm at the busy Cantonment Road. The bus struck the motorcycle from behind, causing the riders to fall onto the road. Locals immediately arranged for an ambulance and the duo was rushed to the casualty ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
Situation turned tense at the site as irate locals stopped the bus and asked the driver to step out. He was forced to produce his driving licence. However, Cantonment police soon reached and pacified the locals. Both the vehicles have been seized and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
