Angul: Two persons were seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck near Kulada under Nalco Nagar police limits in Angul district on Tuesday.
They were on their way to Angul from Banrapala when the accident took place.
The duo was rescued by some locals and rushed to the district headquarters hospital. They were, however, shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when their condition deteriorated further.
Locals later staged a blockade near the accident spot accusing the district administration of having failed to check frequent road accidents in the locality. They lifted the blockade after police personnel reached and assured them of prompt action in this regard.
