Two Killed, 10 Injured In Separate Road Accidents

Cuttack: At least two persons were killed and 10 others injured in separate road accidents in Cuttack and Bargarh districts on Wednesday.

In the mishap reported from Cuttack district, helper of a bus was killed and 10 others sustained injuries when the vehicle rammed into a truck on National Highway-55 at Kajalakana Gada.

Those injured were rescued by police and fire personnel, and admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

In the second case, a man identified as Thabir Tripathy (55) died after a canter overturned on Padmapur-Bijepur road near Pahandi village in Bargarh district.

The body trapped under the truck was later recovered by police with the help of locals.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck overturned and fell on the victim while he was standing on the road.

The driver of the vehicle fled the spot immediately after the accident.
