Berhampur/Nabarangpur: Two persons were killed and 11 others injured in two separate incidents of lightning strikes in Ganjam and Nabarangpur districts on Sunday.
Two women, identified as Latika Gaud and Runu Gaud, were killed and eleven others sustained critical injuries after being hit by lightning.
According to available information, the duo was working in an agricultural field near Mahaguda village under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district when the mishap took place.
The injured were rushed to Bhanjanagar hospital for treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.
In another incident, a woman and her daughter sustained serious injuries after being stuck by lightning while they were reportedly working in a farmland at Rajamatu village under Papadahandi tehsil of Nabarangpur district.
