Bhadrak: Two persons died and as many were critically injured after the car in which they were travelling crashed into an electric pole near Ranital Chhak on National Highway 16 in Odisha’s Bhadark district on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, the accident took place when the car was en route to Bhubaneswar from West Bengal. While two among the four occupants died on the spot, the injured were admitted to the districts headquarters hospital here. One among them was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, as his condition deteriorated.
The identity of deceased and the injured is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, police have seized the car and began an investigation into the accident, which is suspected to have occurred as the driver fell asleep and lost control over the vehicle.
