Two Killed, 21 Injured In Separate Road Accidents In Odisha

Kendrapara/Baripada/Nayagarh: Two persons died and 21 were injured in separate accidents in Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts on Sunday.

Two persons riding a motorcycle died after the two-wheeler collided with a vehicle near Udkamal under Patkura police limits in Kendrapara district.

The deceased were identified as Ranjan Sutar and Pintu Patnaik, both hailing from Pandhia village in the district.

The accident took place while the duo was returning home after witnessing Durga idol immersion ceremony at Kalabuda.

They were rescued by fire personnel and rushed to Patkura community health centre in critical condition. However, the doctors declared them brought dead.

Similarly, as many as 18 persons sustained injuries after the pick-up van carrying them turned turtle near Andhari Chhak under Kuliana police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

The accident took place when the vehicle carrying labourers from Rasgovindpur was heading towards Bisoi.

In another incident three persons were injured, two of them critically, when an ambulance carrying them overturned near Nuagaon in Nayagarh district.

The ambulance was on its way to Dashpalla carrying a dead body from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
