Angul: Two persons died on the spot and more than 25 injured when a Berhampur-bound private bus hit a vehicle near Kiakata Chhak in Angul district near the border of Boudh district late on Sunday night.
Sources said that the ill-fated bus carrying about 40 passengers had left Hirakud at about 9 pm. However, the driver lost control of the vehicle near Kiakata Chhak and it hit a stationary SUV (Innova) and overturned. As a result, one passenger inside the Innova and the bus conductor died on the spot while over 25 passengers were injured.
The Kiakata Police rushed to the spot and brought out the passengers from the bus and rushed eight critically injured passengers to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla and the 25 injured passengers to the district headquarters hospital in Boudh.
