Two killed, five injured in lightning strikes

Sambalpur/Puri: Lightning strikes in Sambalpur and Puri districts on Thursday claimed five lives and left around five injured.

In Sambalpur, two persons died when they were struck by lightning while taking shelter under a tree at Nagadihi village under Kuchinda block. They were identified as Rajnikant Sahu (33) and Agasti Nayak (23).

Similarly, five people sustained critical injuries after being hit by lightning at Bramhagiri and Cuttackpada in Puri district. They were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
