Two Killed In Head-On Collision Between Two Bikes In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Two persons were killed and a minor boy sustained critical injuries in a collision between two motorcycles in Nilagiri town of Odisha’s Balasore district on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Chandra Sekhar Patra of Nilagiri and Akshaya Kumar Jena of Remuna.

According to sources, the accident occurred near Simulia Chhak in Nilagiri town, when the two motorcycles crashed into each other. One of the bike riders died on the spot.

The rider of the other motorcycle was a college student, who was bleeding profusely due to multiple injuries after the mishap. The locals rushed him to Nilagiri Sub-divisional Hospital where he succumbed.

A minor boy, who was critically injured in the accident, was initially treated at Nilagiri Sub-divisional Hospital.  As his condition deteriorated, he was later shifted to Balasore District Headquarter Medical College and Hospital, sources said.

Police have seized the two bikes and launched an investigation.
