Two Killed In Highway Mishap In Balasore

Balasore: Two drivers were killed and another seriously injured when two trucks collided head-on near Chhapulia on National Highway-16 under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district in the early hours of Tuesday.
Sources said a chips-laden truck collided head-on with another truck, killing the driver Ratikanta Das (35) of Jaleswar area of Balasore district and another driver (yet to be identified) on the spot.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and admitted another truck driver Anuri Sheikh Sadaf, a native of Jaipur in Rajasthan, to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.
The bodies of the two drivers were sent to the hospital for postmortem.
While the police have informed the family of Ratikanta Das and the injured driver, efforts are on to identify the other driver who died on the spot.
