Balangir: Two people were killed and seven injured after a jeep rammed into a stationary truck near Bairasa on Balangir-Sonepur road on Saturday night.
According to reports, the ill-fated Bolero jeep was carrying 15 people from Ghumer village near Patnagarh to Puri. On the way, the driver lost control and the jeep slammed into the truck, killing a woman and a man on the spot. They were identified as Shakuntala Sahu and Tej Bag.
Later, locals rushed to the spot and took the injured passengers to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir. Their condition is stated to be stable.
