Keonjhar/Jagatsinghpur: Two persons were killed and one injured in two different road accidents in Odisha’s Keonjhar and Jagatsinghpur districts on Monday.
In the first accident, a youth was killed near Kusunpur village under Ghatagaon police limits of Keonjhar district. Amlan Anshuman Jena belongs to Ghatagaon area. Sources said the accident took place when the car Amlan was driving hit a roadside tree near the village. Residents rushed him to a nearby hospital in Ghatagaon where doctors declared him brought dead.
In the other accident, a person was killed while another sustained critical injuries after the motorbike they were riding was hit by a truck near Jogadhari in Jagatsinghpur district on Monday morning.
The death youth, Suryakanta Satpathy, belongs to Teratanga village under Balikuda police station while the injured youth is Muna Das of Sasana village.
Sources said the accident took place when they were on their way to Cuttack on a bike. On being informed, the police reached the spot and rushed them to Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital, where Suryakanta was declared brought dead. The injured Muna was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Investigations are on.
