Baripada: Two persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle on National Highway-18 near Gadadeulia village under Baisinga Tehsil in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.
The victims hail from Rangamatia village in the district.
The injured person was immediately taken to Baisinga hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, an irate mob gathered near the accident spot and staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. The police reached the spot and pacified the agitators, after which the blockade was lifted.
The locals alleged that reckless driving has resulted in the death of the duo.
