Bhubaneswar: Two persons died and over 30 were injured in two separate road accidents in Khurda and Bhadrak districts of Odisha on Wednesday.
A mini-truck hit a stationary truck on Khurda-Tangi National Highway-16 near Chandpur. Two persons were crushed to death in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Aparti Biswal and Jitendra Pradhan of Kuhudi village under Tangi police limits of Khurda district. Two more persons sustained injuries in the accident.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and cleared the road. They seized the vehicles and bodies of the deceased.
About 30 persons were injured after a bus collided head-on with truck near Kuamara square at Basudevpur in Bhadrak the same day. Of the injured, four sustained grievous injuries and were admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The other were rushed to Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHH) and later shifted to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital.
The accident took place when the bus was coming from Dhamra to Cuttack. It was hit by a goods-laden truck coming from the opposite direction. The truck overturned on the spot after hitting the bus.
