Cuttack: Two persons were killed and six others injured after the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck on Old Cuttack-Sambalpur road, near Paschimeswar temple in Cuttack district, late on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Kuni Behera and Alekh Behera, were part of an eight-member group of a family. They were heading towards Shankarpur area in Dhenkanal when a speeding truck coming from Athagarh collided head-on with their vehicle. One of them died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries at the Athagarh.
The five others, who were rushed to Athagarh hospital, were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after their condition deteriorated.
