Cuttack: Two persons were killed when the tractor in which they were travelling overturned at Kulasri village in Cuttack district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Biswajit Bhoi (driver) and Bikash Bhoi (helper) of Bhogeswar village.
According to information, a passerby who observed the accident informed the police that the driver of the tractor lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn following which it overturned and fell off Eranchi-Kulasri river bridge, leading to the death of the duo.
Meanwhile, locals gathered near the spot and demanded compensation for the bereaved family.
The bodies were retrieved from under the tractor by police and locals and sent for post-mortem, sources said.
