Paralakhemundi: Police on Tuesday arrested two Maoist sympathisers from two villages under Mohana Block in Odisha’s Gajapati district.
Sources said police was on the lookout for Raghu Nayak of Birikot village and Pitara Nayak of Barudu village under Adaba police station limits for their involvement with the Maoist outfit. Besides, the duo was assisting the rebels in spreading their network in the area.
After the complicity of the two villagers came to light in 2008, police had raided their village but to no avail as they managed to flee the area.
However, the Adaba police, acting on a tip-off about the presence of the two villagers, raided their village late on Monday night and arrested them.
The duo would be forwarded to the court on Tuesday after interrogation, police said.
