Malkangiri: Two wanted Maoists, including a woman, surrendered to Odisha DGP Abhay at the Malkangiri District Police Headquarters on Sunday.
The surrendered Maoists, identified as Rame Podiami alias Sabita and Talse Huika Raidhara, belong to Chhattisgarh.
Sources said Sabita was carrying a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh and Raidhar Rs 1 lakh on their heads.
They were frustrated with the Maoists’ recent decisions and decided to surrender to police.
They will be provided monetary assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government, the sources said.
This surrender is a strong repudiation of Maoist organisation n tactics and also an endorsement of the S&R policy of Odisha government, the sources added.
