Two Maoists gunned down along Odisha-Chhattisgarh border

Malkangiri: Two Maoists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces at Rasotanga village in Sukama district along Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on Monday.

The encounter took place this morning when the forces were out on an anti-Maoist operation. Sensing trouble, the Maoists started firing on them leading to a gun battle in which two rebels were killed.

Security personnel recovered guns and explosives and several other Maoist items from the spot. Combing and search operations have been intensified in the region, Sukma ASP Jitendra Shukla informed.
