Paradip: In a tragic incident on Odia New Year day, two youth drowned in river Mahanadi near Kujang in Jagatsinghpur district on Thursday.
The two boys are residents of Pathuria village and had gone to the river to take a bath. They went deep into the water and drowned. Some locals present at the spot rescued the two and rushed them to Kujang health centre where the doctors declared them brought dead.
The boys were studying Plus Two in a local college, said sources.
Recently, three students had died after drowning in Mahanadi river near Jobra of Cuttack.
