Two Minor Boys Drown In Nagabali River In Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada: Two minor boys drowned while playing in Nagabali river in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Thursday.

According to sources, the deceased boys have been identified as CH Bhargav and Srinu Kumar Yadav, both students of Class VI in a private school. They along with their two friends, Janmejay Saunta and NN Bhavesh had gone to play near the hanging bridge over Nagabali river in Rayagada town in the afternoon.

While playing on the rocky banks of the river, Bhargav’s legs slipped and he fell into the river. As he started drowning, Srinu jumped into the water to rescue him. But both of them were dragged into deep water by a strong current.

Unable to help them, their two friends rushed to nearby Mariguda village and informed the villagers. Some villagers initially tried to search Bhargav and Srinu who were missing in the river. As they failed to trace them, they informed the Fire Brigade.

Fire personnel from the town came to the spot and started a search operation. After a long search, they found the bodies of Srinu and Bhargav.

On being informed, a tram from Rayagada Town police station went there and sent the bodies for post-mortem. They have also registered a case of unnatural death.
