Two Minor Girls Allegedly Abducted By Private Tutor In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a very unusual incident, a private tutor, allegedly abducted two minor girl students in Badagada area in the state capital. Some media reports said he ‘eloped’ with the two girls or that the two girls ‘eloped with him.’

Suffice it to say that the teacher, Gopalkrushna Badatiya, ‘disappeared’ with the two minor students on Sunday when their parents were not at home.

A letter recovered from the house, where the girls used to take tuitions read that they would return after eight days.

The parents were already suspicious of the tutor who seemed to be spending more time with the girls on the pretext of teaching them. He had also allegedly threatened the parents when they opposed his unusual behaviour.

“The two girls are missing for the past three days. We suspect the tuition teacher has abducted them. I urge the police to take immediate steps to rescue our children,” said one of the parents.

“The private tutor eloped with the girls when we were not at home. We found a letter which mentions that they will return after eight days,” another parent said.

The parents have lodged a complaint at the Badagada police station.
