Ghatagaon: In a tragic incident, two minor girls drowned in a pond at Paladapatna village in Ghatagaon of Keonjhar district on Wednesday.
They were identified as Bijuli Munda (3) and Rani Munda (4).
According to available information, the incident took place when the duo slipped and fell into the water body while playing near it last evening. The bodies were fished out by some villagers this morning.
In a separate incident, a newborn was found abandoned on roadside at Belpahar in Jharsuguda district this morning. The baby was rescued by locals and admitted to a nearby hospital. Police have started investigation into the matter.
