Puri: Police on Sunday arrested two prime accused in the Puri triple murder case from a forested area near Pipili.
They have been identified as Mitu Behera and Punia Behera. “They had plotted and executed the crime,” informed Puri SP Uma Shankar Dash.
Police had earlier arrested six persons in this connection. Five more are absconding and they will be nabbed soon, the SP added.
Those arrested are relatives of the deceased and they carried out the murders over past enmity.
Notably, three members of an extended family were chased by a group of miscreants and then murdered at Patanaikia Square on the National Highway on July 14. The deceased were identified as Krushna Behera, Panchu Behera and Purna Behera.
