Jajpur: The Jajpur district administration on Thursday said that it had traced two more persons from the district who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin in New Delhi.
The disclosure came a day after a youth from Binjharpur in Jajpur district, who had returned from the religious congregation, was admitted to hospital.
On Thursday, Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said that the two persons — one from Brahmabarada in Rasulpur block and another from Dharmasala block —who had attended the Jamaat, have been asked to remain in home quarantine.
“The blood and swab samples of these two persons and their families will be sent for medical tests today (Thursday),” the collector added.
Das also said that the youth from Binjharpur area has been kept in isolation at the Jajpur district headquarters hospital along with his family. “We have sent their samples for tests and waiting for the report,” he said.
The collector also informed that the border area of Jajpur district with Bhadrak district has been sealed to check the spread of the disease after a 29-year-old youth in the neighbouring district tested positive for COVID-19 on March 31.
