Nuapada: Pandal hopping on Dussehra turned tragic for revellers in Odisha’s Nuapada district as four persons died while three others were critically injured after their motorcycles crashed into one another at Jhirinikhol Chhak under Boden police limits, late on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Demanta Majhi (18), Pinku Majhi (17), Hemananda Majhi (15) and Rohit Majhi (24).
According to sources, the accident took place when the six persons were returning home on their motorcycles after visiting Durga Puja pandals.
All seven injured were rescued by police and rushed to the Boden Hospital, where four were declared dead. The remaining three were later shifted to Nuapada district headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
