Balangir: Two policemen in Odisha’s Balangir on Monday were suspended on charges thrashing people during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
According to sources, the two constables of the Town Police Station, Suryakanta Samantray and Pradyumna Samal, had thrashed and knelt down some people for violating the lockdown guidelines.
Following a complaint lodged by these people, SP (Balangir) M Sandip Sampad ordered a probe into the incident and placed the two constables under suspension for gross dereliction of duty.
