Bhubaneswar: Nabarangpur and Kandhamal in Odisha figure among the most-improved aspirational districts in NITI Aayog‘s Delta Ranking for July 2020 for having adopted sustainable agriculture practices and efficiently managing water resources.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday expressed happiness over the rankings and said that development of agriculture and farmer empowerment are sustained priorities of his government.
Similarly, the government think-tank has placed Nupada fourth in the overall ranking among the aspirational districts in the country.
More than 112 aspirational districts across six developmental areas were ranked on the basis of incremental progress made in health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure during February-June this year.
This programme, launched in January 2018, aims to transform districts that have shown relatively lesser progress in key social areas and have emerged as pockets of under-development.
