Malkangiri: Two minor girls, hailing from Odisha’s Malkangiri, have been rescued from Maharashtra by the district child protection unit officials.
They are natives residents of Khadimati village under Mathili block in the district
According to sources, the duo had gone to Pune in Maharashtra a few days back for earning a livelihood. On receiving information that the children were lured and sent to Pune by some persons, a team of the district child protection unit led by Narayan Das and police personnel swung into action and managed to rescue the children from Pune railway station.
“All arrangements will be made for the children in a residential school where they can pursue higher education,” an official from the child protection unit informed.
