Baripada: Gorumahisani Police here on Wednesday busted a human trafficking racket in Mayurbhanj district and arrested three brokers.
The accused identified as Rakesh Rana, Dipak Rana and Suij Kulia belong to West Bengal.
According to police, the accused had taken two girls of Mayurbhanj district on the pretext of providing them with a good job. Later, they took them to Madhya Pradesh and sold them to a man at Rs 1.20 lakh.
As the girls went missing, their family members lodged a complaint with the police. In course of the investigation, police got to know the whereabouts of the two girls. Later, a team of Gorumahisani police station went to Madhya Pradesh and rescued them.
Interrogation of the three accused is underway to elicit their modus operandi, police added.
